I wondered why it was taking so long to download, then realised it's because Samsung is now using the A/B partitions feature and it wasn't just downloading, it was also installing.

Restarting my device to install an update never bothered me, but I do know someone who had an irrational hatred of updates. So much so they refused to install them.

I've also never had an issue with a bricked phone, but it's nice to know there's some redundancy if an OTA update ever causes problems.

Better late than never Samsung.
