Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1 Honeycomb Tablet

Why include one at all then?

Good question. It's selling point, although just epeen some for geeks, “look at how much memory it’s got”. It’s there because some phones just did not have the memory and required an expansion slot so it’s included in the package. The spec looks good if it’s still there in new devices. There is nothing wrong with having one but if you provide higher spec’d models then why bother. I would have thought that for most of the buying public 16GB would be sufficient. Swings and roundabouts with this topic
.
In this case the desire to have the lightest tablet has probably been the driver for Samsung not to include a slot. I think they've gone in the right direction with this one but should have upped the ante and just gone with 32GB model.

Anyway are you going to go for one of these or something else?

Transformer ticks more boxes than the Samsung at the moment.

Can you afford to get it replaced or repaired, what if it’s damaged out of the box. Weigh up the risks. It’s probably worth waiting just a little longer. The choice is yours.

Easy for you to say... you have yours :p

I think I will wait, but they better hurry up and release it in Europe.

The rumors started off by saying August, but now there are others saying that the initial rumors are not true. Why won't Samsung just confirm it rather than keeping their customer's waiting? More and more people are looking at alternative products because nothing has been heard from Samsung :(

£330 after a month or so seems a massive drop in value for me

There are currently a lot of people getting rid of their Xoom's because there is no info what so ever on software updates for non-US Xoom getting 3.1. Australia are getting it in July and that news didn't even come from Moto themselves.

I can understand why they are getting rid, I would be getting rid of mine if I wasn't only keeping it for 6 months or so.

If 3.1 is released in the USA for the Tab and Xoom, then surely someone will upload it for us Europeans to flash?

Unfortunatly it's not that simple. They are quite different inside apparantly which is why there are different methods of doing things between US and non-US versions. Wifi and 3G versions are also different.

It is possible to flash the US version ofcourse if you really want but the majority of owners will prefer official updates.

Anyway back on topic :)
