*** Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Thread (it can fold and everything) ***

Guys I finally got accepted for the Fold 3 upgrade and my email shows my current Note 20 ultra but under the fold it shows "new upgrade customer" when do I expect to receive further details on sending this back as it's a first for me.

Thanks.

To be honest, i love the look of the fold 3.

The only real thing that put me off is the fact i have got an s21 ultra and just bought a tab s7+ . yes, i know the fold is basically both of what i mentioned in one package. i do think the front screen is a bit skinny, And hopfully they wil make it larger and increase the battery size.

I do think the fold is the future of mobile devices. but it's just not for me atm. I want to see how it progress over time. But having said that i am so jealous you guys have got a nice shiny piece of mobile tech. I hope you guys enjoy it.

Random, Samsung sent another return pack for the Note 20 Ultra in exchange for Fold3 upgrades program. Waste of post. Anyway, loving the Fold, could never go back to Note size, just felt weird, small.

How is everyone getting on with the battery life ?

I've used the phone from 85% to 21% with only 3 hours screen on time just browsing.

Just seems a lot quicker than my note 9.

Mine was due to be delivered tomorrow, after I had changed the delivery date with DPD, as I was away on the 27th.

In their infinite wisdom DPD have returned the phone to EE, who have since cancelled the upgrade...

While EE were apologetic enough on the phone (& it's really not their fault what their carrier chooses to do) my only option to have the device before next week was to pay £10 for delivery from DPD... as you can imagine, I'm less than enthusiastic about handing DPD more money for delivery a day later than originally planned. Other option was an undetermined day next week, which means last minute work adjustments or I wont be in again, oh and I've lost the EE Perk 20% code I used and will have to provide another...

Feeling a bit messed about at this point and EE not prepared to write off the delivery charge, I asked the chap not to put the upgrade through again. consider my nose well and truly cut off to spite my face :D

Guys, when upgrading I didn't log into my Samsung account to complete the purchase, will that matter? I obviously went through the upgrade lounge.

How does the return happen? Do I get the return package and instructions together with the new phone or separately? All seems very vague right now and I'm scared of having two finances running together haha.

Phone not due until 24th of SEP either.

Speak to another agent and ask for a manager. They will waive the delivery fee and they can retro apply the 20% without another code. Explain your issues and frustrations and be polite. They will help.

Thanks, I'll be giving them a call shortly.

Does anyone know if we have to activate the samsung care plus or is it automatically done on the phone when you buy from samsung?

I think once the phone is linked to your Samsung account, it's automatically applied. You can check if the phone is linked by logging into your account on Samsung and going to my page and seeing if the phone is listed there. I called Samsung to doublecheck and they said the care plus was active.

it's listed under devices, I can't find any mention of care plus though, on the website it says you have 30 days to activate it after purchase I might call them also

Well after 3 weeks I am returning my Fold 3. It's a shame as it's a decent bit of tech, but it's still too compromised for the price.

The main negatives for me were the battery and camera performance. But to be fair the camera was decent enough for basic daytime snaps and the battery wasn't terrible, it just wasn't great!

The thing that made me snap was the call quality, constant call dropping, silent passages and overall call quality was rubbish. The fundametal basics of a phone is to be a phone!

Will go back to my pixel 4xl for now and see what the next few months bring.

So how do you go about sending it back? Do you need to go into support and tell them or just literally just send it back ? I've gone onto the order but there's no option to click return item.

?

From memory, you contact them and they arrange a DPD pickup of the item. Samsung should have sent you a returns label with the original product as well.

The only way to do it online is via the chat option and arrange it via the operator in chat (otherwise it's phone and arrange a collection via DPD), there is no 'Return' button. That's how I did it, very prompt and easy to organise, they offered me a £50 voucher to use in their store to keep it.

As @Squink states, there are return labels in the package they sent to you, if they've been misplaced they can email you replacement to print and attach to the parcel.
