*** Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Thread (it can fold and everything) ***

That Chromebook is rough! Not even a 1080p screen!!

Although I would actually make use of it as it saves lugging around my massive Lenovo Legion that is lucky to get 2 hours on battery

I have been sizing it up a bit more and it appears from some phone size comparison sites, that when folded, the Z6 is pretty much the same size as my Pixel 5 when it comes to width.

Anyone know where I can get a new Zlip5? Besides eBay?

EBay has a new one for £550. I wonder if anywhere else sell it for similar price for new. I prefer it to be a new phone as it is a present.

Quite liking the fold6 - had for a little while now.
Not really thought of needing the front screen bigger (went from an S23ultra)
Main thing is watching YT / netflix etc - still havent used the pen for anythiung useful.

Am still looking for a decent case - currently have the Spen case and the none Spen case from Samsung and really hate the flimsy front parts.

Anybody using any other cases that you would recommend? (preferably that holds a pen)

Hi, I'm looking at getting either a flip 5 or 6 for my partners birthday next month. Does anyone know of some good deals please?

I must admit I am quite smitten by the Z Flip physicality as a phone...Very satisfying feel when closing it, neat front screen, don't really mind the crease either. A little jealous of my fiance now as it's going to be her new phone lol

Having recently sold my Fold 4, I was contacted by the purchaser to tell me the inner screen has failed. Literally a couple of weeks out of warranty.

Dodged a bullet there and it definitely makes me hesitant to buy another folding device.

So I've manged to bag a new flip 5 for £520 from the rain forest for my partners birthday. I think that's a good deal considering they are still selling for over a £1k on Samsung's site. Maximum trade in they'd give was £100.Sorry only just realised this is the fold version thread, my bad...

Sounds like a decent deal.

Personally I don't think the compromise of the flip folding screen is worth it just to save some pocket bulk. Cool device though, just still sprouted about the screen failures.

Small handbag unfortunately and there is very little out there that will fit. She's currently got a pixel 4a which is the limit.

My fiance loves her's. She has now figured out how to install more apps on the outside screen, and use it more and more without having to open the phone. Using the outside screen to take photos, selfies, check messages and even quick reply to WhatsApp messages. There are also a lot of accessories and cases out there that make this phone looking "cute". More so than even the iPhone.

The only thing I dislike about the cases are that they all need an adhesive, all of them, including the Official Samsung ones. So it makes swapping and changing cases back and forth more difficult. Once you take it off, the adhesive is exposed and thus next time it would be less sticky and more likely to slide off.

Also, some cases comes with plastic screen on the case and some cases has a hole. Meaning if you put on a screen protector directly on the outside screen, you can't use the cases that comes with screen protector as part of the case structure/design. I much prefer putting on a glass protector and use cases with the hole for the front screen.

She hasn't got it yet as her birthday is next week. Thanks for the advice about case though, I've got her an official case as well but she'll not take it off once fitted.

There are so many cases and I don’t mean materials.

1 - like the official one where it does not cover the hinge when closed.

2 - some cases covers the hinge when closed.

3 - some have an NFC built in the back cover and creates a wallpaper for the front screen to match.

4 - seen one where the back cover even has a light and pull power via the wireless coil, lights up like the old MacBook from 2015.
