Samsung (MZ-V6E500BW) 500GB EVO + Gigabyte Z170XP-SLI Compatability

Ive got the gigabyte Z170XP-SLI-CF Running bios v F6
on the supported list on nvme drives this 500 gb evo is not mentioned but the 512gb 960 pro is.
does anyone know if the samsung 500 gb will work - ive not used these nvme drives before and im not sure if they work even if they are not on the official supported list.

any advice would be appreciated as i want to buy one tomorrow..

update my bios to f22a. works fine. spent a day trying to figure out why i wasnt getting decent speeds from it - to find out nod32 antivirus was interfering. turn it off and now im getting 2278 read and 1674 write. could probably go better with more tweaking but i think its a result... samsung 960 EVO nvme, 500gb.
