Samsung Odyssey Neo G7 firmware update

I updated mine a couple of days ago to 1007. Not sure what it fixed to be honest but was able to calibrate the HDR a lot quickly this time - not sure it had anything to do with the update but yeah. I always use one of these monitors on PC with HDR always turned on as I just can't be bothered to play around with settings in SDR and it has worked for me thus far.

I created another thread here about the issue I have had with these monitors after returning them once to Samsung and then buying again from another vendor. After countless tries, searching online for the fix, I finally found the fix and that was simply the case of pressing the OSD buttons whenever you want to go into bios or windows safe mode. That's it....just keep the monitor awake when you reboot and the monitor will post those screens rather than going into a standby loop.

I'll have to try that with my G8, Nearly always when rebooting it will be completely black so I can;t get into the bios until it comes to the Windows login screen.

Yeah, give it a go. I was about to return the monitors yet again last week until I just came across an old forum post about the samsung non neo g7 model going into standby when you wanted to go into bios.

It is just odd that a £1000 monitor has no feature to let it not go into sleep like this. None of the power saving or eco timer settings work to address this.

Yea, I've noticed this too, but I haven't needed to go into the BIOS since before I got the monitor.
With my previous monitor, a Philips, I would often have to just bash the Del key on the black screen, and once it went into the BIOS the screen would eventually come on.
It is kind of weird that this doesn't seem to be a priority for manufacturers, probably because people aren't kicking up enough of a fuss about it.

This is so annoying. These monitors are capable of displaying literally hundreds of images per second, and yet displaying the first image can take half a minute. How hard can it be to just turn on?!

This is something that could be fixed via a simple firmware update but for whatever reason Samsung sabotage themselves constantly and it's nothing new... their hardware is brilliant but their software always lets them down, even going back to around 2004/5 a friend of mine got 1 of Samsungs newer 50+ inch HDTV's in the UK and there were so many issues with the software side of things it genuinely confused me as to what the hell Samsungs software/UI teams actually do as they seem to be terrible at their job and this is now a multi decade problem.

Update:

New Firmware update available: https://www.samsung.com/uk/support/model/LS32BG750NUXXU/#downloads

I gave them a ton of feedback on live chat after running into its issues. Since there are no release notes, I am hoping they fixed it good this time.

For those using this monitor, let us know how the update goes. I am about to update both of mine.

Install was straightforward for me. Can't say I've noticed much of a difference or menu options. I'm using HDMI 2.1 with my PC.

I'd be interested if the incredibly slow initialization with Display Port has been fixed as only using HDMI 2.1 with my main PC to work around it and would like to free up a HDMI port if I can.

Yeah, installation was ok. One thing they definitely not have fixed is the monitor going into standby loop if you boot windows into safe mode or trying to get into bios on restart without needing to press the OSD buttons to keep it awake. What a shame.

Not seeing any new inputs in the menu so doubt anything new was added. I too hope they fixed the DP lag as I am thinking of hooking up both of mine to my pc (currently one is exclusive to PS5) with DP cables.
