Samsung Omnia I900 owners thread.

It seems to be (samsung website), its for singapore etc but you can change the country back after flashing using the edited details on my last post.

I was just about to say... it says wrong version.
I've tried that before - changed the country and tried running the update and it says the same thing, wrong version e.t.c. and worst is, I had to reconfigure everything back to how I like after the re-flash.

Just want a simple, update for the UK model without the hassle of losing what I have in storage and setup... :/

How do you back up the phone? I was assuming there would be a section in Windows Mobile Device Center, but there is nothing of the sort!

How do i change the shortcut 'phone' in the bottom left hand corner to a full 'phone book' shortcut?

This is how it was before i flashed it!

edit: To avoid the incorrect version you need to
Press the 'dial' key to the left of the optical pad to bring up the dialer
With the onscreen keypad input *#1546792*#
Select 'Preconfiguration'
Enter code *#81230*# and select OK
Select 'Singapore', with the default Operator
Accept this, DEVICE WILL HARD RESET
Run update, and all should be well.

  • Follow these instructions
  • You will also need to download THESE and put them into your Omnias Windows folder to enable the sensors.
  • I disabled motion sensor while playing the game as it makes it crash, there is a cab that you can installl that does it auto as well

More info on games can be found here

My moms now stole my Omnia off me, shes addicted already lol

Just got the chance to get Tomtom working. I followed a step by step guide and tomtom is now installed and seems to be working.

However I cant seem to get a lock on to any satellites, it just keeps flashing waiting for a valid GPS signal!

Is this where I need this port splitter thing? I have installed it but dont no what to do next!! :(

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

Install port splitter, use port com2 (or which ever your GPS port is set to)

Use Baud Rate 9600

Output i use com6, add that then start PS.

In TT, use "Other NMEA GPS Device", Baud rate 9600 then com:6 Port Splitter.

:)
