Browsing I have found brilliant.

Touch screen is much better than i though it was going to be, and typing is quick for me.

Only down side is that the screen isnt brilliant in sun light.

One or two times I have hit the wrong button because the buttons can get small.

Overall, well chufed and glad i didnt get iphone.

Just realised that my phone is unlocked - i put my o2 sim card in it and it worked fine! (Bought from orange.)

how are you finding yours so far?

amazing:) the only thing that i thought would be bad was the screen resolution but it isnt, i was playing with the diamond and it the screen is nicer (too small tho) but apart from that, the omnia is the way better phone...i still dont know how to get that other today screen tho:p

answered in the owners thread. I will stop double posting and only post in the other thread!

I was on a £35 a month Racoon contract (with the orange braodband and Livebox).
Just got the Omnia for free, plus a £30 a month contract reduced by £5 a month. Taking out Orange care for £6 a month got me a further £5 a month discount, the good part is that after 4 months you can cancel the Orange Care, but keep the £5 a month discount.

Basically this all boils down to -

500 minutes
Unlimited landline
100 texts
free 16GB Omnia

£26 a month for the 1st 4 months, then reducing down to
£20 a month for the remainder of the contract.
Plus I get to keep the Livebox and 8MB broadband with landline thrown in.

Gonna be eligible for upgrade in september on o2. Been looking at iPhone, touch diamond, tocco, omnia etc and I have to say the omnia could be the pick of the bunch.

Currently on a £35 a month contract that gets me:
600 mins
1400 texts (used during weekdays)
unlimited texts over the weekend.

What are the chances of keeping this contract (possibliy getting it cheaper) and getting the omnia for free. Been with o2 for a number of years meaning i am an "o2 select" customer, not that, that actually means anything because they normally don't seem too bothered about keeping my business.

if you have been a customer for a long time, then quite probable...but your upgrade is in sep and the omnia is coming to o2 around start/mid sep so they might not want to do it but then keep ringing and push them harder and you should get it...o2 retentions department is the best i think, they gave my sister an amazing deal when she rang them last year

no point getting a phone like this with out data ! :)

A friend said he thought he saw the Omnia in a high street Vodafone shop today (I suspect it was the Tocco) so I rang Vodafone again...

The salesperson said that Vodafone weren't getting the Omnia until 'sometime' in September and they had no more information. He went on to say that from what he had heard, when it is eventually released, it isn't supposed to be all that good and that I'd be much better off waiting for the N96 :o

When I told him that the phone was already out and that Orange and O2 customers already had it, he sounded genuinely surprised. I said that I was really wanted the phone and that I was currently considering my options - I'm going to leave it now until Friday, the only certain date I've been given them so far for a release.

SW.
