Samsung sneaks out snazzy 3G iPhone rival... the Omnia.

Maybe a daft question but how do you tell if the Omnia you have is a 8GB or 16GB Version. Was looking in the Orange Shop today and there is nothing on the Box and the Memory tab in Settings wasn't that clear.

Looking to pick up a 16GB Version, I also understand the Orange ones are unlocked is that true?

Ordered mine today on upgrade.

Free on a new 18 month Orange Dolphin 30 contract @ £25 a month with a 350MB data bundle chucked in

Free after some haggling I might add - they wanted £39.99 for the phone on at least the Dolphin 35 contract at first. But kudos to the lovely lady on the Orange Premier team, and the one in retentions, who looked after me

I could have perhaps haggled them lower, I'm a band 5 premier customer, but I was pretty happy with what I got really. Hmmmm. I'm not hard faced enough!

I have the N95 8GB at the moment, will be interesting to see how the Omnia compares. I figured that if I don't like it I can either flog on it t'web for £400 or so - or return it under Orange's 10 day return thingy and haggle for a better deal etc.

Orange and O2 seem to be the way to go? Vodaphone need to pull their finger out! Especially considering their 'special relationship' with Samsung...

yes, except o2 dont know when they are getting the phone in stock when i rang up.

Orange could only offer me 600mins/unlimited txts for £35 a month with the phone costing £100

if you can stretch a little go on the 45 deal, haggle like i did and then downgrade your contract after 9 months. that way 39/ month for first 9, then £35 after that with free phone.

When it's turned on where abouts is the memory size. Is it under Settings, Memory then the Storage & Program wit the two totals adding up to 16GB or is it under Storage Card? As I thought the Storage Card was for any added Micro SD Card?

Anyone able to confirm if the Orange Omnia's are unlocked as I want to be able to use it with a CytaVoda SIM Card in Cyprus as well.

yeah, and carphone warehouse have 37 in stock but o2 have placed an embargo on them selling them on o2 contracts as of today :eek:

nope...all omnias from orange are unlocked and unbranded

I think they [orange] had issues branding it....and O2 are still trying to brand it and test it with whatever software they are putting on the phone.

That or they are holding out due to the iphone agreement with apple.

Does anyone know how you can assign a mp3 that you have loaded onto your phone as a ringtone? I have looked about but I cant see how you do it!

EDIT: worked it out!

Loving this phone by the way. Its better than I thought it would be.
