Average read speed is 91.7MB/sec and the maximum is even more impressive at 118.7MB/sec :eek:

I know which drive will be my next drive :cool:

so 250gb platters i read that there are 250gb, cant remember where tho.

3 platters but maybe they just use 250GB per platter with the rest unused.

I doubt they will use different platters with the 750GB models when they are also making 660GB model

Re-read the Tom's article and found this bit of text:

The HD103UJ is the top model of Samsung's new Spinpoint F1 family. While all are based on the same data density (350 GB per platter), rotation speed (7200 RPM) and interface (SATA/300), only the 1000 GB and 750 GB models have the full 32 MB of cache memory.

Looks like the 750GB models are indeed short-dtroked so they should be even faster than the 1GB model, but I will be looking for confirmation from another site
