Samsung SSDs reliable?

I've been using a Samsung SSD (Samsung PB22-J 128GB) daily in work since Nov 09 , paid £260 at the time from OCUK. It's still going strong, no complaints whatsoever.

Samsung SSDs are probably the most reliable on the market currently. Prior to releasing the 830 series to consumers, they were already testing the waters with OEMs and it was only after the units had proven themselves that they decided to release them to mainstream users. They certainly put a lot more emphasis on reliability. That's why Samsung only have this one series of SSDs rather than several lines like OCZ. It means they only have to focus on the one product.

Something I wrote up at the end of last year: http://www.vortez.net/articles_pages/meeting_samsung_in_barcelona,3.html

Not necessarily.

There's a small failure rate with all components no matter who makes them.

Did you have the SSD connected to the Marvell Controller?

No Mate. Intel all the way. Received my new drive yesterday. Installed from usb rather than DVD. Perfect. So it could have been the SSD???

Had my Samsung 830 (128GB) since March 24.. its been running peachy and so far no problems. Paid £150 for it back then and was gutted to see them going for £80 on OCuK yesterday. I nearly bought another but i'm saving for a 7950 atm. SSD prices have come down a lot in recent weeks so i'm sure i'll pick up another in the next few months at a nice price :)

Samsung all the way! :p

Usually go for Intel but this time I thought I would give a 256GB 830 ago and could not be more pleased. I can't tell any difference between this and a Intel 520 240GB.

Samsungs are great for reliability, the system I built up for my mate 3 years ago is still going strong with three of the old first (second?) gen Samsung 90/70 64GB drives in RAID0! (This still remains one of the fastest storage systems I've used, 7.9 on windows drive index and 7 seconds from Windows boot logo to Firefox somehow despite owning much faster SSD's on paper)

My first and new Samsung 830 128Gb is working very good, no problems at all :)

Only problem I had was when I first installed it BIOS or Windows could not find it so I had to replace with another Sata cable and then it worked.
