YAY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

COD2 is going better than ever before :)
1280 2x aa max = 86-91fps even on multi moscow, but with vsync enabled get 40-60fps.
I have yet to test other games but that dualcore fix, fixed it, perhaps a thread should be created to advise all X2 owners of this miracle speed increase.
As much as i love COD in general this IS the fact = we lost a bunch of fine severs with good custom maps and mods for COD 2 with no punkbuster "lots of cheater" no mods no custom maps so really im not so thrill about COD2, matter of fact in general I find United Offensive far better . and i had COD since the very first day it came out. graphic wise i seen better looking custom maps on COD than what COD 2 came with .

type of gfx isnt a factor, it is simply a dual core issue, sorted out as soon as you install the hotfix and amd x2 drivers, or install them again correctly. sp3 will of course resolve this "bug" but we will have to wait till summer for that.
not all dual core cpu's have this problem though, quite a lot of people with E6 revision cpu's done seem to have problems (dual opterons and later athlon x2's), seems a very common problem with early E4 stepping cpus.

So if I buy a new x2 3800+ it should be a later revision and thus ok?

Alex thats correct, most shops should stock the later E6 stepping which you want. thing is its easy to know what your getting if its an oem cpu as the part number has a CD on the end and the early E4's have a BV on the end, unfortunatly if you get retail which is most likely, both E4 and E6 chips had the same part number ADA3800BVBOX (I think AMD made an error and carried the same part number over, so it should read ADA3800CDBOX for the retail E6 3800+ but all shops have copied them) so your gonna have to email if you want to make sure 100% there stocking new one.

I turn direct x 9 off when playing COD 2 other wise my 6600gt runs like a slug regardless how much i oc it it . i still keep all settings high i get about 80/90 FPS i can lived with that . besides Cod 2 is not that graphic intense.

running the game in directx9 mode almost everything is bump mapped, thats why it is so hard for your 6600gt to run it, my friends athlon xp/6600gt is the same. If you switch directx9 off you switch to directx7 simple textures and it will look like a pile of ****, but yeah it will run very well on any pc.
