Wanting to go from a Q6600 to i5 Sandybridge and would appreciate some suggestions on what hardware to choose. Please feel free to advise me on any weak points and improvements.
My budget is around £500-£550 (£600 would be my max) and I currently have the following in my basket:
I will be using the 650W Corsair Modular PSU, Zotac GTX470, hard drive, and optical drives from my current system along with my monitor, mouse, and keyboard.
Never overclocked a CPU before, but wanting the 2500K to give me the opportunity to do so if required at a later date. Might go SLI at a later date so need a mobo that will enable me to do this.
Have used Gigabtye and Asus in the past but too many threads on here about customers having problems with the P8P67 series. Never used any of the other manufacturers before.
Never used or even heard of GeIL RAM before, but 8GB at that price looks a good deal.
Happy to change the case if the cooler (or one that is recommended) and 470 won't fit inside it.

and says "Never heard of them, mate". Now not only do they advertise them on their website, they were also listed in their little booklet they let customers look through to show their prices. Anyway after waiting for 20 mins whilst the sales assistant looked up the component I was after, he then had to speak to a certain someone at their other store to find if they had any in stock but this person was too busy to assist. Anyway I came out of the shop empty handed and won't be shopping with them again for awhile.
Maybe the price has dropped because the CPU doesn't come bundled with a game anymore, but I didn't even want the game.
