Thanks for your honesty best response so far,what is a realistic time span for the asus 5870 if you know.

Asus just aren't getting the allocation at the moment we will recive literaly one or two pcs a week for a couple of weeks.

When i called on monday i was told by a young lady "yep all new 5870 cards in stock shipped monday"

Called monday afternoon still no stock umm strange,called tuesday and spoke to a man and was told wednesday deffinetly shipped be with you thursday my order still says Order Status: In our warehouse queue.

As others have said, why tell your customers that stock was imminent and take our money when you dont even have them.

To be fair there is an issue that needs addressing if you were told that "all" the 5870's will be shipping on Monday as this was never the case.

Asus have only managed to deliver a handful of cards which is nowhere near enough compared to what we have on pre-order and they've got nothing in concrete as to when they'll be more available either.

The cards that were due to arrive Monday were Sapphire. Sapphire told us that the cards would be arriving Monday and so we give an estimated date based on that. If they don't deliver there is nothing we can do apart from complain and get a new date. No amount of screaming and shouting will make any remote kind of difference as to if a courier will "speed up" or not.

Surely when you buy say 1000 units at say £250.00 i am bloody sure i would know where they were.
I dont mind waiting for the graphic card i just dont like being told porky pies

If only it was that simple. Couriers and forwarders do not rush themselves. The Sapphire stock landed in to the UK late on the 28th yet we received absolutely no notification from them until this morning. If it hadn't been for us paying a fee to get the delivery sent same day, we still would not have shipped any until late tomorrow afternoon.

Fatboy said i was 100% in for the wednesday stock and it would be delivered to me thursday but with gareth170 being 27th in the queue and that isn't in the first batch, im worried i am not either.

I'd like to hope so but I'm not going to confirm anything as 100% as I cannot guarantee that. Couriers are simply too unreliable. ETAs on the website are estimated and can go back especially on products like this.

Nope and as such we don't have an ETA listed against the product. Even Asus sometimes don't know what stock they are going to have due to the way their distribution channel runs.

The majority of retailers have cards available for pre-order only, whilst the likes of COMPETITORS have no Radeon HD 5870s listed at all. Indeed, your best chance of bagging one is likely to be our latest *****.winners competition.

The availability of AMD's card (or lack thereof), should come as little surprise. Earlier this week, our sources revealed that AMD won't be able to keep up with initial orders for its upcoming Radeon graphics cards. We later found that AMD has committed a large proportion of these cards to Dell, so that the PC maker can launch a new range of DirectX 11 compatible gaming desktops to coincide with the launch of Microsoft's Windows 7 operating system.

But where does that leave your average enthusiast and self-builder? At present, it leaves you in limbo - you'll be hard pushed to get your hands on a Radeon HD 5870 (let alone two or more for CrossFireX configurations), and seemingly-inflated launch day prices are anything but appealing.

Furthermore it is reported that the first amount of graphics chips delivered by TSMC will contain 50,000 to 100,000 units. The ration between the produced Radeon HD 5870 and 5850 cards is said to be 4:1.

Im somewhat annoyed with the delivery service that overclockers employ, i got my email saying it was shipped on the 30th so waited all day yesterday for it, never arrived so have waited all day today and no gfx card, just looked at the delivery tracking and saw this

'02 Oct 2009 15:27 Aberdeen (express) Unable to deliver, premises could not be located'
Which is complete and utter bs and i doubt very much if they will deliver on saturday and thier depot is over 30 miles away and i dont drive.

Edit: Phoned the depot after seeing if my bro would give me a lift, can pick it up tomorrow, now i just need to find something with my name and address on it as proof.

Long time lurker - First time poster

Ran a search about any info from FB about new availability of the 5870 Sapphires and this thread popped up - so thought to put it here rather than recreate a new thread - (Pre-ordered my second one last week Order number: OC909387 placed 28/10/09).

Is there any update on when the next allocation comes in, the quantities and if my order would be fulfilled with that allocation?
