Sapphire GTO² available exclusively from OcUK and Modding instrutions inside.....

I'm really undecided though... whether to upgrade to a relatively cheap but heavily OC'able Venice/San Diego... or hold out for the M2 socket and DDR2.

If I buy Skt 939 now i'll just have to fork out later for a new mobo and RAM at the socket change.

I have a 2.5Ghz Skt 754 and 6800GT so the little voice in my head that doles out sparing lashings of common sense tells me to wait. The other voice wants a 3200+ venice, DFI SLI Expert edition and a 7800GT. :D

Asrock 939 sata 2. socket M2 supports already there :) you just wack in a cpu expansion card at a later piont (will cost about £18 ) DDR2 support may also come on an expansion board, will have to see what they come up with.

Hmm im not really into all the expansion board malarky though, i'd have to buy a native board with uber overclocking potential like the DFI. :)

you should honestly check out the review on ocworkbench, for a budget board this things remarkably overclockable :) performance wise it matched the nforce 4 boards in most areas, and any it didnt it beat them in ;)

There are ways to flash back without a secondary backup PCI-card, u just edit the autoexec.bat file with the flashrom commands. Its always sensible to make this disk and check it works (having saved ** own bios as backup) prior to flashing a strange new bios.

I would have bought one of these but I bought a x800gt during an unplanned upgrade (which in the end was unnecessary) and Im convinced that there will be a bargin next gen card in a months time anyhow.

I though my upgrade was rather pointless till I checked out America's Army, used to get 30fps on graphically intensive scenes but Im getting 80fps with dips to 60fps now, with basically a higher clocked r9800pro pci-e card. U can see full details of my upgrade ( and previous rigs ) in my sig.

hmmm... thats not good and may of just shot the 100% modable theory out of the window :(

:) panic over i flashed it 3 times (dont ask me why i just did ok lol) with 16p bios and now its alive dunno wtf was wrong ,off to do some 3d 05 benchies in 16p standard and 16p oc settings.

sorry to alarm you guys :p and will stick my benchie numbers up shortly back in 10 mins...........

oh.
that was a bit misleading.
the other bits have already just been ordered somewhere else.
I didn't mean that as leverage that I was going to put in a huuuuuge order over here based on the graphic card price.
