**SAPPHIRE HD 7950 WHITE EDITION FIRST AT OcUK!!**

I have to say the design of the card is very nice. Would fit perfect into a black/white themed build.

I guess the price is justified given the niche market so margins have to be adjusted. I'm guessing there will be some sort of mechanism built in to prevent people from buying a regular 7950 and flashing the Apple bios onto it. Much like the 7950 had the extra unusable GCN cores laser cut so you can't flash a 7970 bios onto it and unlock the extra cores, some hardware modification may have been done to make it so only official Apple 7950s are compatible with Macs. .
 
To be honest of course it's easy for any PC gamer to be shocked by the price of the card since we can pay half the price for the same card but this is expected...

Looking at the other cards out there for the Mac Pro I think the highest gaming spec is the 6870 at around £340 with a 5770 costing over £200 :eek:

So yeah, it's £399.99 but it's currently the top of the range gaming graphics card for the Mac and with Bioshock infinite coming to Mac now as an example there will certainly be games to play on it.

I'm pretty convinced OcUK will have no problem selling these cards and it is priced right.

100% this, MAC is a completely different market, this allows MAC users to have graphics power very similar to that of the PC and to be frank the price is a bargain for MAC users, when you look at 6870 price which is half the performance.
 
Just an FYI, this card has one bios flashed with the Mac compatible loader, and one with the PC bios.

They've also changed some components relating to the BIOS chips (EFI related I beleive) to stop people flashing a dump of the Mac Bios on standard cards
