** SAPPHIRE R290 PRO REVIEW & 1000+ IN STOCK!! **

MK26 with a couple of Zaward/OcUK Golf ball fans, will keep the card silent at sub 60c at stock. MK26 is also good for a mild overclock, for example 1100/5500, but is not recommended for maximum OC as the VRM/Memory runs a little hotter with this cooler.

But if you want a mild overclock and wish to game in silence, this is perfect cooler. :)

Gibbo, is there any other VRM and ram heatsink/chip coolers you can buy which are better than the ones which come with the MK26? I found them to be fairly poor before. Mainly just sticking. If there is some, which would you recommend? Also I've already got a Mk26 on my 6970 so can I just slap that on a 290? Depending on if I can get some VRM and ram coolers.

290pro + waterblock is cheaper than the slower 780. Interested to see what Nvidia do with pricing now.............

Erm they'll probably think how many people are going to watercool these, a fraction of a percent of the buyers, and realise with the stock coolers they don't need to do anything right now.

Gibbo, I presume MSI and other 290's can be flashed with the Asus bios?

Sapphire are nice and all, but I went with an MSI, the extra year's warranty and I prefer MSI in general :).

Yes the Asus card will work on any card, you can even flash the Asus R290X BIOS if you wish for higher default clock speeds. :)

290 looks like a great card but doesn't "sound" like one..

Once asus work the direct Cu II magic on it, then it will be very interesting.. I wonder why AMD did not engineer something a bit better HSF wise, especially as they have had loads of time to see the results of Nvidias latest coolers.. Very surprising..

Good on them for shaking up the market though, was totally needed.

more noise complaints... i didn't notice the 290x noise (before it died...) in my case it was still quieter than the mrs pc. that said i will probably put a block on it soon enough when it arrives
