sata 3 question

hi all

ive just got my new system working

ive got sata 3 ssd hdd and sockets on mother board for it

but i set it up and loaded windows when the hdd was plugged into sata2 sockets on mobo

can i just unplug and put it into sata3 socket will it know what to do or do i have todo somthing else??

If the SATA 3 is from the same controller as the SATA 2 then you should be fine.

If they're different, for example Intel SATA 2 and Marvell SATA 3. then you'll have driver problems.

Taking the example above, if you installed the Marvell SATA 3 drivers before doing the swap then hopefully they'll be picked up when you do the swap.
