Hi.

I've got some sausages, I had 4 yesterday and the use by is 25th April, it's the 26th April, will the remaining 4 be ok?

Sorry for this DVDbunny style thread but I need to know, no one else I ask seems to know as they dont eat sausages

Thanks
Will.

Sausages last ages, the BBE dates are a bit conservative, you can eat them for a good few days after the date expires. Like most common meats, if sausages look/smell ok, they they usually are. You can usually see/taste/smell something "wrong" right way.

They will be fine, the lifetime of food is not exact. I generally go by the theory that if it looks and smells fine then it's safe to eat.

Put the sausages down, lock away any sharp tools and back away from the cooker, you need help.

Unfortunately they will have turned bad on the stroke of midnight thanks to advances in microbiological manufacturing processes.

You can't perform the simple task yourself when telling if food is off? So you'd rather ask the internet, who don't know where the food has been stored or what it looks like.

Edit: Why has my sig been removed after being there for near 2 years?
