You have to remember there is a difference between bespoke and made to measure

Bespoke is fully hand made and will cost around 2k upwards

A made to measure is hand finished and will cost about half of a bespoke suit but give you about 90% of the fit

This is very true.

Can I ask specifically with regards to Savile Row, do you think that you can get a bespoke suit away from Savile Row for the price of a made-to-measure on Savile row?

This is what I seemed to find with my investigations and I was prepared to forgoe the 10% of missing "fit" for the unique designs of the made-to-measure Savile Row suits. In consultations with tailors I came across their craftmanship was beyond question, the choice of fabircs and linings limitless but their flair and eye for style restricted somewhat.

Those that do have the creative flourishes as well as the craftmanship end up back on Savile Row doing bespoke stuff and that is where they are able to charge the £2K+ you mention.
