Watched it tonight at the flicks. Overall view is its ok, abit like saw 3 but more complex. Very gruesome in parts but it all gets a bit complicated for me towards the end.

7/10 for me :)

I just got back home from watching it too and I pretty much have the same opinion of it as you do. Pretty good, quite gory in parts, complicated near the end and one or two "Why the hell did you do that!?" moments.

just got back rfom watching saw4 can honestly say im very dissapointed with it overall compared to the other 3 this just did not cut the mustard for me, story was hard to keep up with wasnt all that grusome as i thought it would be :mad:,
for me this has ruined the series in a big way..maybe because it has a different director?? it just did not have the same feel as the other three films.

4/10 :(

Worst one yet imo, Cant go into detail really am still :confused: I seem to have missed what happend dispite sitting there for almost 2hours.

poor 2/10

Seemed to me like they were struggling for a story with the film and thats the best they could come up with... all in all very very dissapointed with it after 12 months of waiting :mad:

I saw it last night and thought it was really good. It was still quite gory and graphic but not the same in your face way that 3 was and the story was a good mix of how the 1st and 2nd films worked.

Not understanding the entire story and leaving with questions is what I quite like about the saw films. As my mate said last night the saw films are a bit like Lost in that you get to the end and they answer your questions about the film before but raise more for the next.

I can't honestly see the series going on for much long so i'm hoping for a good film next year to tie everything together. :)

I didn't think it was much like the 3rd at all. I took it as a happy medium of the 1st and 2nd. To the 3rd is the weakest in the series as it seemed it's only purpose was to make you feel as ill as possible by having excessively gruesome death after gruesome death. :)

Darren Lynn Bousman has directed 2, III, and IV, James Wan directed the first. Going to watch the third tonight, I have kept up to date with this series as I thought the second was very pointless.

**SPOILER**

Watched this last night as well, in case it helps anyone the time line of it takes place at exactly the same time as Saw 3. That made the story a little clearer to me anyway :) An extreme gore fest though!

'saw' it today at the cinema, opening scene was just a gore fest, not really needed, but i guess that's the direction it has moved to now

the twist at the end was one you'd barely care about (as in the final twist)

ive liked tham all upto now, if you dont expect anything but lots of gore, you wont be dissapointed ;)

i dont pay for the cinema anyway so it doesnt bother me if its tripe :p i find films like this and hostel fun though :p

Saw this last night at star city, all a bit "meh" about it really. I enjoyed it but I struggled to properly understand what was going on half the time :(

Even though I didn't quite follow it properly, I still found it a far better film than Halloween. I think the days of a mindless villain going round stabbing everyone are gone, Saw requires its audience to think.

Absolutely agree, three was very weak for the reason you mentioned. I enjoyed 4 but felt they tried to tie everything up in 2 minutes - i'm still very confused. Still a good film though.

I thought this, but given as the film starts with the autopsy of Jigsaw, and the resultant investigation from the tape in his stomach IS the film SAW 4 - how can it be in the same timeline?

It didnt help that I kept getting the FBI guy and the cop mixed up.

What was the guy in the electric chairs' motivation?

Very confuzzling.

Its bad enough I have to pay 30 quid to go to the cinema, for my money, i'd at least like to be able to explain to the gf what the hell happened in the film afterwards!!! :p

Like I mentioned before it is essentially just 'Lost' to me albeit with more gore. They answer the questions raised by the previous film and then leave you with more questions.

As long as they wrap the series up in next film I'll be quite happy. The formula at the minute can only last so long and it seems as they are starting to repeat the twists but add a slight variation to them.

The time-line to the film confused me two. :)

<spoiler>

How did they get Jigsaws Body without finding the other bloke from the 3rd film is what mainly confused me.

</close spoiler>
