Will we ever see an end to this? I'm just annoyed that I will be having to pay one of these utter cretins more than what I want to be able to maintain a tradition.

You could just, not buy the bear? Its... a bear, im sure your other half will cope.
Or buy one in January when there'll probably be less demand?
It would be interesting to see how many the resellers are left holding on to and how much they cost themselves in wastage. Looking at how many bears from previous years are on eBay, I wonder if they'd sooner keep hold of them until next year than punt them off in January 'cheap'?

I have a Voodoo 5500 PCI Mac edition flashed with PC bios in the loft. Have a look at the prices of those on eBay. Bloody miners!

It's everywhere and it's infuriating.
I've been on a waiting list for a guitar pedal (King of Tone) since 2017. They're $265 and due to crazy demand they're only now shipping pedals from November 2017. It doesn't help that it's a one-man operation and were given some crazy publicity on YouTube some years ago.
