Alright, I need to pick up a 2nd language, so I was thinking of spending the summer somewhere in northern europe. Iv already been to sweden a few times - so would be perfect, but here's the questions...

Has anyone done this before - how easy is it to find a job / accomodation in anohter country? I couldnt really afford to go a whole 2 months w/out an income.

Also, how does tax work?

And finally, 2 months to pick up a langauge in another country - is this possible? If its easy enough to get a job, how easy is it to get one where you actaually talk to people? I dont care too much about the pay, or what I do, aslong as I meet / speak.

Moved to Cobham in Surrey in 1995 when the old man got a job in London, lived there for 8 years and then went to uni in Liverpool. Now Im working here, have gf here and living with mates :)

Ahh a perfect example of someone who isn't tainted by sterotypes!

People hear/read the name Liverpool and associate it with bad things. But those people have never experienced it themselves.

Liverpool is a great city, especially the city center. Its awsome, I love going there (and its getting even better.) Yeah there are some run down places in areas, but... hasn't every city in Britain got those places? And after travelling a lot around the UK, I've seen much worse places.

But Liverpool is Liverpool, it'll always have the sterotype stuck too it.

Saying that though I'd prefer to live in Sweden :p
...because this country as a whole is going down the pan with the government we've got.

come on someone answer some of my questions, swedish dude?

du e sexig om du ska answer det?

Howdy,
I think your best bet would be to apply for a job with an international company who may have an office in Sweden and work as an ex-pat there. Failing that teach English. With regards to taxes, you will get n00bed, taxes are very high however Id regard the standard of living is a lot higher than in the UK because...well...everything is cleaner and our public transport and national health service ACTUALLY WORKS!!!! sorry about the caps. With regards to accommodation, wont be a problem. Sweden is huge with a very small population so there is always room for people. Hope this has helped.

ha :) ja, jag e din sexslav för alla natt (?).

Mmmm as for international offices/jobs, i work in the financial industry in tech, but most of the financial places over there want like Swedish+English? no ? that's why I wast thinking of something more lame.

As to taxes, is there like foreign earnings tax?
