I flew to Bangkok last summer, this was a 14 hour flight, with a 2 hour stop in doha. i then made another 17 flights in and around south east asia for next few months. These were on some of the oldest planes probably in service and legally allowed to fly.
Was i scared, not really. Was i scared on the bus tour around one of the islands? A normal large bus of the type used in the uk, spending large amounts of time overtaking cars on the wrong side of the road heading towards similar buses of the same size? yes i may have been slightly concerned. Was i worried while riding a 125cc scooter on gravel roads in thailand? perhaps, but it was incredibly fun, and probably one of the most dangerous forms of transport available. it was dangerous but it was fun at the time, and when I knew i was ok after i looked back on it and it seemed even more fun.
But for goodness sake, grow up and go and enjoy a holiday, live a little. Enduring danger and coming out the other side is part of the fun.
