Scared of moving up

It will be no different and shouldn't trouble you at all. I found education was generally a cake walk up until third year university, and I am far from clever. It's amazing what revision cramming sessions and all nighters can do.

Advice for life:

Stay away from drugs and cigarettes. Especially cigarettes, they may be legal, but they're horrific.

Drink can be fun, don't over-do it. Get drunk if you feel like it, but not all the time.

Take the opportunities with girls. You'll regret not doing so if you don't. If you're not sure, try, and if you get knocked back don't let that put you off next time/with the next girl. Use protection until you know it's 'safe' to go bareback. (You'll KNOW when.)

Work hard in years 10, 11 12 and 13. Enjoy school until then. (And even during these years!)

Pick a worthwhile degree and work hard at it (if you decide to do one) unless your parents are LOADED and will keep you forever.

Stay in touch with your mates when you go your separate ways. You'll see them again after uni. They might not be there when you're away and they won't be when you get back if you don't stay in touch.

Don't spend beyond your means. (I learned the HARD way!)

This is the advice I'd give my 12 year old self.

Oh, and don't worry one bit about moving up a year. All your mates will be with you! ;)

Good advice that Dabbles. :) I start 6th form on Monday. Mixed feelings, gonna be better than school in some ways but I'm going to have to work ****ing hard to do well.

Year 8 is basically Year 7 with the added benefit of not being the smallest/youngest in the school anymore, when moving around the site with your crew make sure to barge through small gaps when there are Y7s coming the other way :)

Lmao, I have a couple of friends who on the first day of school always find pleasure in continuously walking through the crowd of year 7's pushing them out of the way. Going into year 12 this year and I imagine it will happen again.

I don't join in, I'm just nice like that so I point and laugh instead.

Well I'm going to year 8 in like 7 days and I just feel a bit nervous about moving up. It's a bit like will anything change, will things get harder. Will I be ready for it all.

I just finished my first day of year 9. Trust me, barely anything but lessons and teachers change across the years.
