What is the Scariest Game you have ever played and why?

Mine would be Amnesia - The Dark Descent because your trapped in a castle with no way of defending your self and there is monster creatures running around, all you have is a lantern

System Shock 2 springs to mind, but I don't know if it would have the same effect now.

More recently, some of FEAR was pretty jumpy.

I hated Doom 3

Dead space is another good scary one...it didn't bother me after a while through

Halo CE: The Flood and The Library when i was eight. Think i had to get my brother to finish it

Although i did just buy Amnesia on Desura. Scared to even install it

However Dead Space is what I find scary now

Resident evil 1 & 2 were both scary games especially if u played them alone at night as a 10 year old.

Dead space and doom 3 were also pretty scary.

I have amnesia in my library but i haven't played much up till now as i have been too busy, but it did scare the poo out of me when i did play it.

Hmm,Dont play many scary games tbh...but Fear & Doom 3 is very creepy,I always keep hearing things and looking behind.

Resident Evil on the Playstation. Got it on day of release and those dogs that jump through the windows in the 'L-Shaped Passage' made a little poo come out.

haha first thing i thought of was SS2 it made the hairs on my neck stand up
I still have the game don't think it will work under windows 7

If you decide to use mods then at the very least I'd recommend one in particular called SHTUP. It can be found here:

i couldn't finish doom 3 cos I'm such a panzy! The tension just kept buliding up the more I played till it just got too much!
