Scholes rejoins Manchester United Paul Scholes is back!

Yes we do. If Fergie wants to keep the young talent we have like Pogba and Morrison then he needed to give them game time. You cant blame them if they are there just to make up the numbers and not playing.

Morrison is injured.

Pogba doesn't look ready.

It's more of a blow to Gibson than anyone really.

Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson: "It's been in the offing for a few weeks. He has been playing really well. He came to see me and said he was missing it too much. There were no negatives as far as I'm concerned - the fans will be happy and I am happy. Everyone knows he is one of the greatest players in Manchester United's history. He has not lost his real fitness."

Fergie sums it up best. History.

If you take Fergie at his word then we have never had a good record of signing players in January. So from the point of view of having getting a player in who knows the club/players/manger its a no brainer. That said Scholse legs were gone last season, same as Rio's are going.

Pogba will go where the money is...gametime or not.

Great decision Fergie. What a joke.

As if re-signing a 37 year old retired player wasn't stupid enough, you then brought him on after 6 months without matches or proper training.

I thought the Henry deal was an odd one but only Fergie could go and make that look like genius.

Still now we have a good 3 or 4 players who can pass the ball sideways until the end of time.

Yep tbf we lost all shape when we brought Scholes on today. Nani was poor again but at least he was an out ball and he's always capable even when playing poorly of laying on an assist or a goal

Long term though it gives us another option in midfield though albeit like Henry I cant see Scholes starting too many games.

It's not a good option in midfield though. I'd rather we played a youngster and gave him some match experience. Than played a past it, slow OAP. Scholes looked very slow at times last season and he's hardly going to have improved has he.

Fergie clearly doesn't feel Pogba and Morrison are ready yet though so which is better Park and Rafael in centre midfield or Scholes in there? Like I said it'll only be worse case that Scholes plays IMO

I think Fergie got carried away with the return of Scholes today when bringing him on (although tbf on Aguero's goal I'm holding Lindegaard totally at fault for)

At the end of the day it should have been a comfortable save which would make any mistake before hand totally irrelevant. I think it was Evra Scholes was playing the ball back to and he didn't cover himself in glory either (just standing off waiting for the ball to reach him and being left totally flat footed when Milner IIRC intercepted it)

Still Lindegaard's fault though :p

I love Scholes too, I just don't want my opinion of him to be tarnished the way my opinion of Neville was tarnished because he stayed around too long after his best form was just a distant memory.

Do you know why we're seeing things like Scholes and Henry coming back temporarily? Because of retarded out-of-control player fees.
