I'm running out of films to watch. I've seen:

2001
Gattaca
Sunshine
Serenity
Apollo 13
Stargate
Armageddon
Mission To Mars
Fifth element
Pitch Black

Any more you'd reccomend?

Chronicles of Riddick
Alien
Aliens
Every second Star Trek movie :D
Blade Runner is fantastic.
Starship Troopers :D
Tron
The Matrix Trilogy

hehe. I had a friend named Paul after Paul Atreides....excellent books but the movie was terrible imo. The newer series is better, but still I wasn't too thrilled.

Dark City perhaps? I'm not a particular fan and Kiefer Sutherlands accent drove me insane but more than once I've been informed that I'm wrong and it is a great film.

Whatever you do, don't even consider Aeon Flux, just take my word for it.

//edit and possibly Minority Report too.

When you say modern series, is it easy to pick up part way through series then? Don't want to miss out on the story.

No...watch from the pilot episodes, battlestar is simply fantastic and you can't afford to miss a single episode. You will find people who speak badly about it few and far between.

^Yeah, Dark City is an excellent film.

A new film which recently came out Eden Log.

Its french and different, low key, but it has good atmosphere, some have said similar to fps corridor pc games. You have to have patience for it though, because its quite a slow film.

Either version: the US version was surprisingly faithful to the Russian version (if less so to the book) - probably why it failed at the box office.

Stalker. VERY long, VERY slow, but one of the few original SF films ever made (if you ignore the book it's based on anyway). Watch it to see where the game got its ideas from.
