scirroco gt :)

If he didn't know, that's fine, but at least do a tiny bit of research before going on a rant and making yourself look stupid :p

Not really, given how much it costs and the fact it has an old shape Golf interior to boot.

Tbh I prefer the interior to the Golf R.
Considered both, both around the 33k mark with the specs I wanted, even though the Golf R has a slightly better torque / speed still think the scirocco is better for looks and comfort tbh.

Went to have a look at one of these with my Dad the other day for his new CC.

My impressions were really good, where as I simply thought they would just be Golf in drag! I think my Dads spec came to just shy of 26k brand new (Candy White, GT Model With the 2.0 170PS Engine - Sat Nav, Xenons, Leather) He's test driving one with the same spec on Saturday.

I like the Scirocco but couldn't bring myself to spend that kind of money on one, or any other small hatchback, not when things like this could be had for similar money...

Someone that is looking to buy a Scirroco isn't your average M5 driver though are they? If you did any decent amount of mileage the running costs of the M5 would be signficantly larger too.

Any VAG cars with the 2.0Turbo engine return a decent mpg to power ratio, agreed the scirocco premium is a bit mad.

I present to you:
ford_racing_puma.jpg

I like that/them a Lot.

The racing puma is properly good FWD car; it has fantastic grip in the twisty bits and did you know the engine was designed by Yamaha! I was looking at buying one but with only 500 in the country the prices were a touch high, scratch that SHOCKING

Yes they do rust like all the good fords :D

Rusty rear arches are issue on puma, mine are ok so far ;)

I drove a 2.0t Scirocco and was underwhelmed tbh (but then i haven't ever like the turbo vag engine in anything) - it didn't seem as keen to turn in as the puma but of course had more power and a better interior.

It felt like a bigger/heavier car then the puma and not like a bigger better puma tbh, i was hoping it would do - a nice car but it lacked character and an edge i thought.

thats right i typed it :-)

Try a KA with zero spec and you will be surprised. No weight, wheels at each far corner - little go cart on 'un

now pass my expensive cider!!!

I loved my little Ka :)

The best thing about it was that me and a mate both had one so races were fair and fun :)

I'm glad to hear about the puma, like that car but never heard anyone talk much about it, my current 1.4 focus is d.e.a.d.... the thing hurts me inside it's so slow :( nice to drive but when I've got the funds (read: job) it'll be on auto-trader and I'll be on the hunt for something a bit more fun :)

Elise.... one day...

I actually quite enjoy driving Kas (most definitely NOT the new one!!), have driven a few. But I wouldnt consider them a high point for ford really

its not just the frp engine that was influenced by yamaha, its all of the 1.7l engines.
chassis wise the frp is no different just a wider track (+20mm iirc)
but it does get a eibach suspension as standard and 80 out of the 500 got a limited slip diff.
its the interior and those wide arches that really set it off...
problem now though is that they're gettin old and parts cost an arm and a leg...
