Scissors to Cut Food

For some reason my parents use a pair of scissors (that took a lot of spelling....) to cut bacon sandwiches in half.

By the time they've got that far I'm pretty much done and licking the HP sauce off my lips! :)

If you'd take 4 goes to cut your pizza with a pizza cutter then why would it take more goes with scissors? The principle of cutting a straight line across the diameter is the same so you'd still be going from one outer edge to the other - the only difference is the implement used.

Not really, if you go straight accross with scissors you'll get pizza on your hands.

I used some today to cut the ends of some green beans.! We have specific scissors that are for food. As has been mentioned they are but far the best way for dealing with things like bacon.

Maybe, not usually a big problem but I guess it may depend on whether it's deep pan and how much you have in the way of toppings.

Not to mention the need for 12+ inch scissors...

In the same way that for every other task involving cutting you need scissors that are at least the same length as what you are cutting so it's only one snip...?

We've used scissors in the past for cutting greens, bacon and I think possibly chorizo. But never for cutting pizza, that is either a pizza cutter or if it's gone a bit too crispy a we use large knife.

I have a pizza cutter and scissors. Both or which are fine. But scissors are better when it comes to harder crusts etc.

Ill just use whatever is at hand. Id definitely recommend scissors for cutting pizza if youve never tried it.

I just use a big knife for every cutting job to be honest, find it less faff than having different things for different purposes. Only ever had crap scissors at home which probably didn't help mind.
