Scolari sacked!

Zola would be terrible, West Ham are playing fantastic attacking football, fluid fast breaking attacking. Its what Scolari is good at, Zola would suck aswell as his style isn't narrow/defensive. Chelsea either need to buy some wingers and a striker, or get a manager in whose actual strength is playing defensive football. Sven gets "success" buy buying in expensive players who already are in form and riding that form till it dissappears, he'll be terrible at any club that isn't buying and wouldn't get either club playing well.

I just can't think, other than Moaninho, who is considered a top 4 kinda manager who would do well with a defensive setup.

He was never the right man for the job. A brilliant national team manager he may have been but that is totally different to a Premiership manager. Chalk and cheese.

Not sure I'd want Zola - as much as I love him and he's a legend but he still has to put some time in as a manager. I would like to see Clarke back, either as assistant or as the main man himself.

How much would Chelski need to pay in compensation to get Capello in? You'd think after hmm, has it only been since end of last season, that Capello will probably be a bit bored with sporadic international games and would leap at the chance of running a club again.

The best man for the job would be Fabio Capello by a country mile. But like most other top mangers he's otherwise engaged. Kevin Keegan? ;)

He got us in to a champions league final and lost the title by 2 points.

Grant gets unjustified criticism.

John terry missed an open goal from a yard on Saturday and was one kick away from winning the champions league, sometimes there's only so much a manager can do.
You forgot you took the mighty Spurs to Extra-time at Wembey aswell ;)

Shame you're 2 points away from the relegation zone though ;) Yet you also have Joe Lewis pumping cash in so don't give me the YOU'VE GOT A BAZILLION POUNDS....

They probably had someone lined up weeks ago as it's been clear for a while that Scolari was struggling to make the changes needed.

What changes though, the back 4 relatively, with injuries, picked itself. lampards a given, essien would be a given, as such with no Essien Mikel pretty much has to play and is a fairly decent defensive option. Anelka is a given, Drgoba is utter pants. His only options are playing Lampard/ballack/deco out wide or playing malouda or Kalou wide, neither works well, the first 3 are just central players without question and aren't good as wingers, the last 2, are hopelessly crap wingers and worse anywhere else on the pitch.

What exactly did Scolari get wrong?

THe squad lacks wingers, and strikers and he was given no money to buy either, Deco might have been overkill though when played in a form chelsea side he's been brilliant, on the wings he's poor. But he's a slow midget so would be crap on the wing. 8mil for his quality is cheap and you wouldn't remotely come close to getting a good winger in for 8mil.

The one thing I think he's got wrong is not moving Beletti or Bosingwa up to the right wing and playing the other as right back, giving them an extra winger basically.

What do Chelsea fans actually think he should have done better?

Jesus, sooner or later you have to realise it's not the manager but the players in place. Scolari never had anything like the money previous chelsea managers have had.

You can't doubt the mans experience, yet all of a sudden he isn't good enough for chelsea.

The premier league is running out of managers and chelsea keep throwing money away in pay offs.

My moneys on Sven.

Chelsea have become a total joke. They where on the edge of becoming a great side but keep throwing it away with schoolboy board level desicions.

over paid big kids at chelsea not the mangers fault really, feel sorry for Terry he's the only one that stands out as players player...

Instal the attitude & state of mind in his players where they will play there hearts out for him the team & the supporters, Wringing every tiny morsel of energy & bringing out every ounce of skill in All players whether World class or Youth.
Basically installing enough passion in the 11 players he has to field to over run the opposition no matter how many seconds are left on the clock or how many goals they are down etc
