Scots Please Help Me!

Tell her to gtf. I am Scottish, and I'm wearing a suit to my wedding next April. The kilt's become too common, and in my opinion a bit cheesy. Nearly every wedding up here has the grrom in a kilt and the bride in a white strapless dress. I'm not going to conform to these social norms.

Only by people who should know better, it really doesn't matter much as far as I'm concerned, if you're man enough to wear a skirt with pride then no one should be questioning you on your heritage, as Judge Mental stated the modern kilt isn't much like the traditional one except they both involve tartan.

I don't see why not, given your first sentence your second/third seem a little incongruous.

Surprisingly warm as well, just beware of sudden drafts and wandering hands - I find middle-aged ladies to be the worst, nightmare inducing scenario is you wearing a kilt when a middle-aged hen party comes in, there are some horrors I shall never speak of. :eek:

Bit of both really, I suspect a lot of the ladies didn't get let out of their house/local institution often for the very reason that they'd assault young men wearing kilts. It's almost as if they think it is their god-given right to explore freely and when you point out that this would be sexual harrassment if you did it to them the reply is all too often "chance would be a fine thing" or "go on then son, hear that Heather, I'll be getting some action tonight" - at this point discretion is definitely the better part of valour and running away like a sissy in a skirt is perfectly acceptable.
 
Hmm the idea of pretty much being sexually attacked by middle aged women in the street is slightly off putting but I think I will manage... gets a bit windy up these ways, and we will be near the coast for wedding day, going to be chilly going commando!
