Hello,
The other day i got back home from work and i turned my pc on, then suddenly i heard the cputemp alarm go off as the temperature went sky high 90c, naturally i turned my pc off, i assumed it had to be the cooler related problem as the temp went up so fast. So installed the stock cooler that came with my i7 2700k. And then pc would start for a sec and die, meaning i could see the cpu fan, motherboard's lights and psu fan as well as graphic card's fans begin to spin and then would stop in 1sec as if there is no power. Then i looked into the cpu's socket and i saw a scratch sort of bent pin.. my recklessness caused it i believe.
So my question is, is it possible for the cpu socket scratch to prevent my pc from turning on? or it could be entirely something else? and could it be that scratch ruined my motherboard?
Advice and info is very welcome.
