Only a teaser so not showing much, though it does have a very different look to it being in a big city for once instead of a small town.

That Melissa Barrera has dodgy eyes, I can't unsee it after seeing her in the reboot

Full trailer added to OP, that does look very different from previous iterations.

I'm guessing the mask is going to be said to be one used in the original killings due to how aged it looks. Kinda taking a cue from Halloween 2018. At one point in the trailer there's a "trophy room" with costumes and outfits from previous killings in the franchise.

Love these films and the trailer looks good. Different but good.

Agree but it needed to imo. Theres only so many times you can have it in the same place without it going stale. The only odd thing imo is Sydney not being in it...

As much as I like Neve Campbell as Sidney I think the character was getting a bit stale, she basically had so much "plot armour" you know going in she's not gonna get offed. I don't think the movie will suffer at all for her not being in it as she always survives so its not like you're watching thinking "this could go either way". I think a break from her character is a good thing overall as we still have Gale to be the link to the original 3 movies.

Decent carries on from the last one whilst making meta jokes about itself and the genre on a whole. Not sure why it got a 18 rating as they cut away from most of the stabbings.

Thought it was ok. Very cliché, same formula and this one I did find a little boring. Wasn't bad but nothing new or amazing. Was entertaining nevertheless.

I'll catch it when it goes blu ray. I didn't mind the last one, wasn't so keen on 3 or 4, they were kinda tame.

The first trailer does seem to reveal
more than one killer, showing Gale on the phone whilst someone is being offed behind her.

Given all the memorabillia shown in that altar set up from the previous kills,
I would also guess several killers in some sort of cult :)

Did you maybe see a cut version as most of the kills were fairly brutal to the point that
it was ridiculous how many characters survived particularly the one that was stabbed twice in the stomach only to check out of hospital a couple of hours later to get back for the Scooby doo ending. Should have killed Gail Weathers off this time IMO.

Anyway the New York setting does make it a bit fresh although ultimately its just another slasher flick and slightly too long.

Nice Friday 13th reference too.
