Screw Mod my 205!

The turbo being fubar'd was my original thought, but I assumed you had heard / felt it spool up.

You should be able to hear it whistle / spin up when just revving the engine in neutral. I assume it *has* got a turbo, i.e. theres a bit connecting the exhaust manifold - downpipe :p

Just check all the connections around it, otherwise I suspect its turbo-removal time. I imagine fuel economy would be pretty poor too

[Edit] Time for an impromtu-Basingstoke mini meet so we can all have a poke :D

Over 10 secs to 60 is slow. :p

Its something like 11.6 to 60.

Yes 11.6 but with Pug they do all their times with 2 people in and with some luggage. So it isn't quite as bad as it first seems.

Oh so this is why some people believe the 306 dturbo will do 0-60 in 4 seconds with the screw mod... :p

the book of lies says turbo removal/refit isnt that hard if you're equipped sufficiently (need to spend some time under the car)

the manual you want is number 950 "Peugeot/Talbot Diesel Engine" 1982-1994

usually goes for about 3-4 quid on the e-bizzle

Never mind.

It works now, back to how it was. Still have to put the pedal to the metal to get it going though and it's very slowly to pick up off boost.

May just take it to the 'derv doctor' and get him to tune it for £120.

I'm also wanting to do a quick service on it myself, like change the oil filter, oil, fuel filter and maybe order an air filter for it. What else should I change?

Have you cleaned out the air filter ?

My car drove like it had no turbo when the air filter was clogged on mine. Its only a few clips you need to remove then you can inspect the filter :)

Yeah, it looks alright. Going to order a 'performance' one tonight.

K&N replacement filter £36.02 inc VAT + £7.50. Sounds expensive but then again they all are.

I'm going to go through with the order. Though I'll probably notice zero difference because of the design of the air intake and tubing the filter housing! :(

What on earth is the point in a performance K&N panel filter on an old 205 diesel?

Seriously, stop wasting money, get down to GSF and get an OEM filter.
