Friend has just got back from Oz after four months and was laughing at how the Aussies he met made a big deal about being very different to us over here. In fact, they're very similar.

Actually, "lots of things that can kill you" is not quite correct.

It should be "most things can kill you."

An Englishman has booked a holiday to Australia, but has become progressively more nervous about the deadly poisonous spiders that everyone knows are all over Australia. As big as your hand and as deadly as cyanide!

He arrives in Australia and gets a taxi straight to the hotel. He checks his rooms carefully for any deadly poisonous spiders and is relieved to find none...presumably the hotel has some way of keeping them out.

He pops down to the hotel bar, where he carefully checks for deadly poisonous spiders under a chair before sitting down. An Australian, who has seen this behaviour before, walks over and says "G'day, welcome to Australia." Friendly chap.

The Englishman soon warms to the Australian and nervously asks about deadly poisonous spiders. The Australian replies "No worries - there aren't any spiders around here."

The Englishman is hugely relieved...until the Australian says "The deadly poisonous snakes ate them all."
