After reading the article and seeing the guy he killed and reading about the victim, my blood is boiling. I rarely wish death upon anyone but this kid needs to be hung publically. His attitude before court is equally infuriating.

He's a symptom of his environment. He parents set no boundaries, the authorities probably pandered to him and prison/institution homes half his mates. It's no wonder he is like he is.

Sure he needs beating, but so do his parents and the social services paid to ensure he's cared for. He's still a child.

He'll be desensitised to the deterrent of prison and laden with new crime causing techniques and knowledge. In other words, he'll be transformed from an ammoral teenage thug to an ammoral serial criminal. How is that justice?

Bring back both corporal and capital punishment.
