As title really, I'm interested in a new system and like the idea of a shuttle. Are there any issues I should be aware off? I don't overclock anymore. How much ram can they take as I would like to head to 4Gb eventually, also can they take an nvidia 8800 for example?

The SD37P2 supports up to 4GB of DDR2 RAM in 4 slots.

As for the 8800 quite a few chaps here (who I envy) have squeezed 'em into P2's:

There's a piccy in this thread.

I'm dead chuffed with my P2, it's my first Shuttle and definately not my last:

Though as you can see mine is a work in progress.......

The SD37P2 does support 4GB and is a great Shuttle system. I can also confirm that it will take a 8800 GTS and have seen reports of the GTX fitting as well!!

A system I can definately recommend

The onboard sound is OK, a RealTek chip I think.

There is no PCI slot, so make sure the Shuttle has everything you need. It's got onboard networking, USB2, firewire etc.

You've got Crossfire slots but no support for SLI. So you're stuck with 1 NVidia card.

Oh, and you'll need a USB keyboard, no PS2 port. That caught me out and my Old IBM keyboard now gathers dust.

The rearmost SATA lead is a gnats whisker short and had to be rerouted to reach the HD on mine.

Apart from those niggles I like it, the fanspeed options in the bios are ace and it's got basic overclocking options though nothing fancy.

The next few weeks should see mine watercooled throughout which is gonna be a tight squeeze.

Hmm... Is there any option for a wireless connection? I recall that some of the SN95G5's had that option, does this?

What does an 8800 sound like in a shuttle - awfully loud due to the small enclosure?

Im thinking of one of these shuttle's also (already love my 25P which is about a year old now)

There isn't a wireless option in mine, you could always shove a router with wifi networking in the network port and get wireless that way. I bought one because the USB modem that came with ADSL was lousy.

Dunno about the noise with big GFX cards you could always W/C it if you're worried about the noise. The other fans in the case are not too bad.

The wireless option would be using shuttles own PN18 or a USB wireless adapter. New model due out soon SD39P2, 1 x 16x PCI-E & 1 x PCI, support for DDR2-800 & better overclocking options.

Decent score, keep meaning to benchmark mine before I mod it, what 3Dmark and GFX settings do you use to benchmark? I'm getting 6500 on the basic freeware version in 1280x1024 with one card in, haven't tried it with both, but it only runs a few tests, do I need to cough up for the full version.
