Hi all

Just thought I would ask how everyone was securing there SSD's in there case?

I have an Antec P180 and I bought a 2.5 to 3.5 bracket but it was no good so I did below with velcro and black tape.....looks good to me...

In an ideal world there'd be no drive bays in a case. So you'd velcro the SSD somewhere.

In this world you could use the whole front of your case for fans and have better airflow.

You could also have a case that wasn't so deep (front-back), there's probably a benefit to that too.

You'd also build a GPU duct into the side, drawing air from the side and exhausting out the back - in a seperate compartment from the rest of the case.

If I built cases, you'd have to build your rig my way :D

I got an OCZ Bigfoot at the time so fits in a normal HDD bay. I have used sticky back velcro however on a few builds. Works a treat.

Bigfoot here as well, though ive seen them mounted with velcro or tape, and even lying on the floor of cases.

I'm using the BitFenix 5.25" Drive Bay adapter which came with the case, got the SSD fastened onto that with a 3.5" fan controller on the front.

I used 2 cable ties and strapped it to bottom of a 3.5 slot in my case not the prettiest solution but does the job, will buy a proper adaptor plate if i get another for raid when/if i get a new mobo/cpu combo

Lian Li hotswap bay. I have three, can pull SSD to boot a recovery drive or replace with another hard disk.

velcro stuck to the backside of the case. Soon to be re-located now I have rid my system of mechanical drives.

Mine is sitting on top of my DVD drive. I did have an adapter, but never got round to using it. Might need it now though cause thinking of getting another SSD and raiding them!
