Sea of Thieves or Far Cry 5

I agree with you regarding price, I played in all the alphas and betas and what I saw, whilst relatively enjoyable, didnt contain enough content for me to justify the pricetag. I'll be keeping an eye on it and see how decently its doing in a month or two before making a decision.
This is now my M.O with ALL new games. I've been burnt too many times now with new releases it just makes sense to wait a month or two and see how it goes. Just look at Ubisoft games as an example. By all accounts For Honor has received considerable updates since launch. It was initially planned but since it was fleshed out it has seen a resurgence. What is it about gamers that they cannot act in their own best interests and hold on to their money until they can be assured that they will actually get what they have paid for.

That's another of my concerns with the game and why I'm waiting on reviews and more videos of content post launch. I'm not completely turned off by the game but right now I can't justify the asking price based on what I've seen of it and what my gut is telling me.

It's a Xbox gamepass / play anywhere title, so start the free 14 day trial and give the game a go, that will be more useful than any review.

Also assume day one login issues in both titles, the servers will get hammered

What the ganking gank is a ganker?
So rather than take part in the gameplay a gankers will lie in wait for unsuspecting players and wreck them.

You and your crew will equip yourselves to take on a specific mission, a gankers crew will equip themselves specifically to kill players.

Unless you are considerably higher skill you will always be killed by a gankers and lose all of your progress.

In a game like Elite: Dangerous it became catastrophic. If you loaded your multi-role ship to tackle some NPC ships and collect some cargo then you will be demolished by a gang of player killers in short range fighters when they ambush you.

Obviously we don't know how it will play out in Sea Of Thieves but if 2 groups of gankers are lying in wait for a single group of treasure hunters then we all know how that will end.

I'd consider game pass anyway if it was officially supported on PC. At the moment it'll allow certain okay anywhere title but not enough to justify it's sub costs. It's a smart idea to do a 2 week trial though. Should be long enough to establish if the game is enjoyable or not.

Sail around the island or send one person to shore to check it out, if hostiles go to another bay.

If solo you can outrun a galleon.

I don't disagree with you, it might become an annoying issue but I doubt it will be gamebreaking.

I’ve bought FC5 purely for the setting. Zombies dlc will be very interesting also. Will be like playing the walking dead :D

If you search around, you can get gamepass keys much cheaper than via ms.
Game pass keys?

Can you front load it like paying up front all year?

I'd rather make a 1 off payment on things that cost less than £100 than pay monthly. Paying monthly ends up creeping up on you and you end up with dozens of subscriptions.

In all honesty, I don't know that much about it - only the basics, i'd be surprised if a pay 12 months in advance option isn't available somewhere. cdkeys have a 3 month option and a cheap 1 off 1 month (but i dont know if you can use the free 14 day the the cheap 1 month)

Also the microsoft store/xbox ap is a turd, so i'd absolutely suggest trying it before throwing money at them.
