I'm looking to replace my two old 1.5TB drives as I think one is failing and the other has some bad sectors so might as well do that at the same time.

It's to go into my ProLiant N54L in RAIDZ1 and will run 24/7.

How reliable and quiet are the Seagate ST2000DM001 drives? They seem to be the cheapest and best reviewed at the moment. I'm open to any other brand though :)

Thanks

they should be as good as any other hdd

the early seagates were noisy as hell but very reliable, idk what the modern ones are like

but they seem the best of the bunch esp for speed

Got three as part of an 8 drive array (the rest are Samsung's) they seem pretty quiet ( the array as a whole is much better than when I was using Samsung 1TB drives).
Had one die last month at around the two year mark, got it RMA'd OK, turnaround is a little slow though.
