My old PC that I passed to my kid is showing a sata drive as LRG, checked bios and this is the only option.
I needed to reinstall OS and everytime I do it freezes, some times at 2% other times 90%.
Has the drive had it - are they any low level format software?

I tried that, on the 1 occasion it passed the basic test, next time it could not see the drive!!

Perhaps try checking/swapping data and power cabling to the drive, if you haven't tried that already?

if there's nothing left on it can't you just try reformating as standard before installing?

Thank guys, swapped the sata cable and it passed all tests
