Seasonic to launch PRIME TX-1600 Noctua Edition power supply

Guess it's Fate. The realisation that the existing system isn't enough for the stage of AI testing I'm at means I need a new rig able to run the newer GPUs that can handle the stuff I'm testing. This of course means a new PSU and this was just released. So it's a full Noctua rig, although the PSU will have the sole A12x25 fan whilst the rest is the newer A14x25 G2s. Just waiting on the 5090 in Spring then. :)

It's arrived! Box is pictured on my O11 Dynamic Evo XL for scale

Mine should be arriving today or tomorrow. But I'm also waiting on OCUK to ship out my Antec Flux and Memory that's required to assemble it all in together, so no rush yet for it to arrive just yet here. :)

Installed quickly just to test and make sure it's not DOA. Plan to install a Noctua D15 CPU cooler and all noctua fans when I install my 9950X3D/5090 when it's available, so will save the proper cable management and full dusting for then (4090 got dusty after over 2 years!) :D Then the silence (at idle at least) shall commence!

Uploaded a few photos for anyone interested. The other PSU (going in to my 13900K/3090 work rig) is a Seasonic Prime TX-1000, the Noctua 1600W is quite a big bigger than this! Fits easily into the O11 Dynamic Evo XL though.

The included 90 degree 24 pin ATX adapter is really nice, saves having huge cable bends and really taut cables. It's also lovely having the native 12V-2x6 (600W) cable, instead of the 4X8pin adaptor (4 cables!) that I was using before. Having two of these means I'm ready for the RTX 6090 1200W edition.

Only thing I don't like is the lack of cable braids for the 12V-2x6 cable - so will be ordering some to make this cable neat and tidy. They include them for all the other cables though!

All very well, but I don't think the fan on my PSU ever comes on, so it would be wasted on me.

The Noctua edition is actually a little cheaper than the (hard to find) non-noctua edition Seasonic ATX 3.1 1600w PRIME TX, so it's a no-brainer. Also most stores are selling the older ATX 3.0 version, with old 12VHPWR cable.

Only the ATX 3.1 version (or Noctua edition) comes with the 12V-2x6 cable.

That's surprising.

I notice there are more and more Noctua products these days. Asus in particular, with GPU's and now with AIO's.

I mean it’s not like it’s expensive enough to come with those fully braided - very strange omission that is!!

*sigh*

If I don't get an update on my delivery from UPS tomorrow morning, I think they've lost my delivery of this PSU. And there's no more stock from Noctua either at this time to get a replacement order sent out. *grrr* *shakes fist* UPS!!!!

Ouch - when did you order? I ordered on the 27th, delivered on the 5th, was surprised how long it took UPS to deliver to me also. Hope yours comes soon!

Least you got your order in - I have a feeling that these'll be closer to £500 when they eventually restock - the price we paid is less than the plan 1600W version from Seasonic!

Just got mine through today about 2hrs after the estimate from UPS.
Mine arrived around 3 hours ago. Been assembling the new rig since. Ordered on the 29th, delivered today. It arrived in the local depot back on the morning of the 4th (Wed), so UPS REALLY dragged their feet on this one - their tracker showed various times of them trying (according to their systems) to deliver it to me Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Monday before finally arriving today. But throughout all that time, they never once showed "Out For Delivery" other than on Thursday. All other times was just "We hope to delivery it by end of the day" - which certainly lead me to worry they had lost the PSU.

Still, at least it's here now. :)

Funny thing is, unlike yours, the darn box for it is longer than the case I'm building in. (Flux - non Pro version)
