Sebastian Vettel

Have RBR confirmed that they will run KERS in 2011?

I'm thinking that in 2009, without KERS, RBR had one of the best cars on the grid. Who's to say that they won't attempt to do the same in 2011?

They had the best cars in 2009 while Mclaren ironed the kinks out of Kers and got the weight distribution right. Then Mclaren were a decent car. As I said that extra year of running will be an awesome advantage for 2011.

By the end of 2009 that Kers on the mclaren was a pain for those not running it trying to get passed them. Red Bull will have to run it for 2011 as Duke says the rules about weight mean they really have to run it.

Another thing for Vettel to **** up.

It will definitely be an advantage, but apprently they are not using the same system that they used in 2009. I can still see Red Bull having the advantage, hell, we still don't know how they are so quick in quali.

And that's the big advantage they will have. They will take the best of the system they used with mercedes and refine it themselves. They went through 8 or so months of pain with Kers to put themselves in a nice position now.

That's what I thought before the start of 2009. However, the 2 best cars (Brawn and RBR) did not run it.

Given 2009, why would they run it in 2011?

As Duke says, I believe regardless if you run it now, you need to take the weight penalty, so you wouldnt really gain in not using it. Then again I seem to remember kers causing problems for the cars breaking in 09 due to the way the recovery system worked.

My thoughts on vettel:

I was very disapointed that mark didnt win (but his performance in the last race was terrible, it was almost as if he threw in the towel before he got into his seat). All this, WOW, THANK YOU BOYS, in a german accent is a little bit creepy for me :p

However as someone who did attempt a racing carrer, if I was given the backing, financially and emotionally from top brass at redbull (or any other team) as he seems to be getting, I'd probably behave exactly the same so you cant blame the guy really.

got me some vettel gloves today!
