Second Build - University

I haven done much to the machine but i took this weekend to do some updates:

- i will be trying sli with a 580 that i recently bought

- i want to try the ocuk liquid cooler as there is a lot of unanswered questions and seeing as it was on special offer - i thought id give it a go

- refresh the power supply with one that can handle the 580 sli - thanks to my sponsor at Enermax! :D :D :D

The cooler comes in an unbranded white box, the same dimensions as the Corsair H80 box

Similar packaging inside too...

It has a thick H80 rad but a basic waterblock like a H60

From a quick google, i think this model is the "COOLIT ECO II A.L.C FAT BOY"

The waterblock has a thin copper base, im not sure if thats a good thing or bad :p

Seeing as i had the machine in pieces, i thought id refresh the paste in the graphics cards and replace the EVGA shroud with a generic black one that will look better with my theme

My Noctua with Black fans is going to have a rest whilst i test out this ocuk cooler

I think it fits in quite well :D

Noctua d-14, stock fans, 12V, mx4: 40 degrees idle, 60 degrees load

Ocuk Extreme cooler, Noctua 120mm pull, 12V, stock paste: 40 degrees idle, 63 degrees load

The sli 580s have a 140mm Bitfenix fan blowing along them NZXT-style and the temps are with 1 degree of eachother:

Unigine Loop: 76 degrees botton PNY card, 77 degrees top EVGA card
Unigine score: 2442

Are those screws for fans to attach to the rad?

How many years warranty does it come with?

What temps do you get now compared to your previous air cooler?

thanks

yep, the screws go through the fan and fix to the radiator

they arent long enough to puncuture your rad

they also give you 8 so you can do push/pull if you want to but on these units it isnt really worth it as the increase in noise only gives you a degree or two cooler

i imagine it comes with a standard one year warranty but check with ocuk :)

read the end of my previous post :)
thanks

I really like that PSU! Hardwired cables that are needed I can appreciate, so much better than my Bequiet which has stupid thin hideous molex fan cables hard wired in taking up space behind my mobo tray.

I actually don't like the Noctua fans in black, so used to the original - pure quality the D-14. Impressive temps from the OCuK cooler.
