Secure method to join VGA blocks

So, just had a minor leak on the connection I made between my 5970's (barbs with some hose). I got lucky in that only a small amount of fluid leaked, and remained atop of the copper and didn't go onto the card itself or drip into my PSU.

So now I need a better method to join the cards. See the following pic for reference:

From the plexi on the top card to the copper on the bottom card is 50mm (half ass measured as I didn't have time to turn the case to an easier angle to measure). I was thinking to replace the barbs with compressions as I have a few spare, but then I remembered why I went with barbs in the first place, the EK 3/4" OD compressions don't fit due to the 5970 backplate.

If anyone can recommend a better solution I would much appreciate it. I am considering the EK Bridge, but I need the PCI slot in between the 5970's for my sound card, and am unsure if the blanking port used on the bridge will prevent the installation of the sound card.

TFC do one aswell (in silver) - cheap as chips at about £7 but does the job perfectly with a couple of variable connectors so you can get the spacing right ;)

ONLY issue I've had with these types of connectors though is that its a nightmare to remove your graphics cards without splitting the link (I used to have an X-FI card wedged between two 5850's - to remove it was a nightmare lol!)

Well I noticed those but the minimum length is 59.5mm, the spacing between my cards is only 50mm...unless the measure the spacing differently.

In this pic, the red line represents the space between the cards, which is 50mm. The green line represents the space from the back of the bottom card, to the top of the top card, which is 60mm.

Also, you can see the problem the EK Bridge poses in this picture. I'm unsure if that blank port leaves enough room under it to still fit a standard PCI card or not. If it does, I'd happily go with the bridge...

The TFC variable SLI connector as its called is perfect for what your after mate (comes with three connectors for different spacing requirements). I just realisd you've got the same setup as I had - A soundcard (or something) in between the graphics cards. Will try and dig up a pic.

EDIT: Sorry only pic I have of my old setup:

Thanks for the pic, are you using the TFC link in that?

Here is a diagram of my MB with the spacings drawn out:

I would use that bottom PCI slot, but I can't find any single pci brackets for the 5970's anywhere, and I don't fancy hacking the bracket in half.

Looks like pipe #2 would do. I managed to find them in a mystical land which hails a similar name to something you would SCAN a document with :D, and for a decent price. Shame OcUK didn't stock them, could have gotten free postage. You can edit out that link now before you do get a ban lol
