Security posts

Have the same problem at work. Smacked the exhaust on the pole driving in, smacked some other expensive part reversing in. Lost my temper, drove home, came back with 3 foot breaker bar and 17mm socket and ripped the blighter out the ground!!!

We now have a tamed clamper :D don't bother with the poles and the locals soon get the message after being £120 lighter.

Hope it doesn't cost you to much bud.

As for security poles, the spaces are being changed to flush fit poles that you pull out the ground.

When I get home I am going to go into the garage and find my lump hammer.

At 6pm, the security post will be neither secure, nor a post.

Oh man bad luck :(

Fingers crossed that the manifold is ok for ya bud :)

Mind you sounds like my kinda luck, save for something then a problem like this comes along!

Gutted for you :( I hate them too, I reversed into one and scraped my right rear quarter panel slightly :o

Manifold is badly damaged, cat back is ok, what a surprise

Oh rude words!

I bet if I mentioned insurance you'd throw things at me! :)

Good luck getting it sorted.

Ouch! Unlucky mate :(

I've had stupidly low cars for years so I'm always really cautious when driving over anything or parking too close to a kerb (head on). Neither the MR2 or the CTR have any problems but I'm still careful, force of habit I guess.

System-R have a new manifold in stock, so just trying to get a day off work to limp up there to get it fitted.

As for the old one - I'm sending it away to Hayward and Scott packaged with a new Toda flexipipe, they'll weld the new one in place and send it back then I can sell it for decent money on the CTR or DC5 forums.

If any CTR guys here fancy a 30 bhp increase..... ;)

Does a decat really make much of a difference to an otherwise standard CTR though?

What would happen if my cat just happened to fall off and whilst off the car I accidentally removed the internals?

Yep, nice power increase removing the cat.

I've heard of these things happening on stock UK CTR's, parts just fall off.

Fortunately help is at hand in locating "equivalent" replacement parts, that come from Japan, not Swindon. :D

Gutting a cat is not the way to make the exhaust flow better, big empty box = not good.

That is just engineering p0rn

No, it was engineering p0rn untill I came along. :o :D

It's simply the best made component I've ever seen and it must weigh no more than a bag of sugar.

It might not be as good as a proper decat, but it is better than having a standard cat in place?

(I doubt my gf would even notice if I decatted the CTR unless it's noticably louder)

She'd not notice, up to the point where 6,000rpm came along.

Then she may suspect something's afoot.

:D
