Seeing as most of you have £2500 spare, what would you spend it on ?

Holiday.
Thats what I'm about to spend 2.5k on.

Its the only thing I really want to spend big money on I find "worth it"

Can't the mods start an arguments thread and just leave it un-monitored?

My dude, let me introduce you to the Graphics Card subforum which is every bit as awful as you might expect.

It is monitored and regulated and to whoever is doing that, god speed and good luck because WTF is wrong with those posters.

May take another water bus easy travel trip to Northern Europe.

I mean some people call them cruises but onboard 'entertainment' interests me not.

Ha, interesting. We're over in the UK and Europe this summer* and the cost is just eyewatering coming back from NZ. It'll be fun but 40 grands** worth of fun? Debatable***

* your summer, upside down idiots
** I know this thread is about 2.5k but you caught me by surprise :/
*** I lost this debate.

What.. It's more pricey here??

Not on first glance no but the cost of flights and accommodation and 'doing stuff' from here to Greece, Italy, Spain, France and the UK make me sad. The rest of the family are all IT'LL BE AMAZING, EUROPE!, OMG!! *

Are experiences worth more than 'items'? Huh.

* even though some of us grew up there and/or lived there, so evidence be damned.

e: way off topic, apologies!

The mortgage repayments.

What timing of this thread.

I inherited £3000 from my late Dad (who died in 2021) in late January just gone, and before seeing this thread, I actually put away £2500 in overpaying my mortgage. It's good to chuck some money at it while I'm still on a 2.79% fix. I'll use some of the other £500 on the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2.

Is it really that cheap? I've done fairly "cheap" Europe beach holidays over the last few years with partner, full board, pool beach sea and nothing else for 5-7 days, and that works out about £2k between us. Maybe I need to go Asia way

You can get a nice hotel room for £20 a night, hostels for £6-7. Meals can be £1-3 each, breakfast often included in the room. Even a decent buffet will usually only set you back £20. Rent a scooter for £5-10 a day etc.
