on the bright side if you do not get it sorted, hopefully that will be repairable. We had a similar issue with our sofa and it cost £100 to get a local person come out, collect it and take it back to a workshop to repair and then drop off again . Some may even repair it on site.
i know its not ideal, but if you have offered £120 to reject it then in the end there may not be much difference to you anyway. I know you have said the seller has offered to try to get fixed which is great but just in case not, at least you can consider a repair.
a lot of sofas its as simple as a piece of continual S shaped wire which is clipped from the back of the sofa to the front, there are probably 4 or 5 of them, and 1 or more has snapped. you can even fix yourself if you have a look and this is the case.
