Sega Rally

got this today for the PS3.

Some of it i really love, the atmosphere in the races is great, i just finished a race when jets flew over on the last lap

I am a little dissapointed at the half harted bonnet cam though :(

The no mud i could live with, but the zero water effects is starting to annoy me. I look in the rear view mirror as i go through a river and no splashes or nothing :( i could maybe live with no water on the front view, but not even on the rear view?? wtf?? Surely the rear view is less stressful on the system since you don't need to render a whole car with moving bits?

To be honest I never noticed the water. Those jets in the canyons have drawn my eyes from the race track so many time. I look at them and crash!

Much harder than I thought it would be to gain enough points to unlock race series's.

Got my copies today so i can play later.. Will be on from about 9 ish id imagine.

I'm shattered mate, gonna take a rain check on tonights games. Gonna fall asleep on the couch while the Mrs watches **** on tv.

You probably need the solo practice anyway ;)

Hopefully will catch you for some games over the weekend.

I have one gripe, where is the old arcade race with the timed checkpoints, surely they wouldn't leave this mode out being such an arcade stle game.

Just been playing the demo and graphically i reckon its very good with anti aliasing :) which is nice after people complaining about a fair few games on 360 with plenty of jaggies going on , not a huge rally fan but this is tempting .

Anyone wanting a game, add me to your list, maybe we can get a wee game going over the weekend.

Whats the max you can race online, i havent actually turned it on yet.

6 online. I found the AI learning curve steep. The best tip I can give is go manual gears. In the later championship I've been getting whupped til I switch to manual.

In a race I was coming last at, switching to manual turned it to a win. I also dont brake, I just downshift. Seems to be working just about everywhere apart from hairpins.

Saw this on the PSN last night (demo), didn't realise it was out!

It was my most-played title back in the day of the Sega Saturn; Steering wheel, classic!

The more I play it the more it screams out for a wheel. Others with the wheel said Forza and Dirt where better with the pad. I'm interested to hear how this plays with the wheel. As the game is much much faster with manual gears I think the wheel users would really benefit with this game.

If you buy a new wheel now, do they come with the fix or do you still need to send away?

I couldnt honestly tell you danny but as a guess the wheel would still need to be sent back which reminds me i need to get mine sorted , the shop you buy from might know and if you was lucky brand new stock may well be fixed .

Thanks, next time i'm in town I will ask if its a fixed one. Wouldnt have bothered me before but dont really want to pick one off the shelf that still needs fixing.

I've only had about 5 games online, ranked games. 3rd of 6 is my best yet. One player HRMT or something his Gamertag. Sadly I keep ending up with him in my rooms. He finishes about 20 or 30 seconds ahead of anyone.

Its great fun online though, would be better with friends as always. The collison detection is fine. Even the good players i've come up against are still hitting things.

Had a lot of quitters so far though. You have to be able to drive manual in ranked because its so much faster.

Didnt even know this was out today!

Got caught up in the Halo 3 and Skate. train. Need to rent or buy this asap.
